Ten students from Pembrey Primary School were selected to take part in the Print project at Llanelly House, which ran over four consecutive Tuesday mornings during June 2015.

The focus of the project was print making and the pupils aged 6-11 worked through the processes involved in making a collagraph print to create a self-portrait. On the way the children explored a range of drawing techniques, and also had a chance to experiment with mono-printing, before making a block and producing a final series of 3 collagraph prints.

One of each student’s prints was selected and mounted for the Llanelly House exhibition, which was opened by the Mayor on 7 July, and will run throughout the summer holidays.

Print maker Alan Williams, co founder of the Swansea print workshop worked with artist Pip Lewis from spacetocreate community arts to deliver the project.
